To the family and friends of Les Hanly I express my condolences for your loss. I was a freshman football player at Virginia Tech when Les played his senior season (Fall 1965). He was someone I respected greatly for his outstanding performance on the field and his gentlemanly manner off the field. He set a fine example for we freshmen to emulate. My positive memories of Les will last forever.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my good friend and teammate, Les. I remember fondly visiting his home and family on spring break. I especially enjoyed the boat trip in the Okefenokee swamp where Les showed me real alligators in the wild! My sincere condolences to his family. He will be missed.

Great teammate and friend. We were members of the Claiborne Boys. My sincere condolence to his family. We always wanted to have Les join us Myrtle Beach each January for the Claiborne Boys reunion but we were disappointed when he was unable to come. RIP Les!!
