Amy Louise (Howell) Dixon

Mrs. Amy Louise Howell Dixon, age 66, of Blackshear, passed away Friday afternoon (9/17/21) at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah following a short illness.

Born March 28, 1955 in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Edward “Gene” and Allie Mae Batten Howell. She was a lifelong resident of Pierce County and graduated from Blackshear High School.  She had worked at Barber’s Pharmacy and the Blackshear Presbyterian Daycare, but had been a longtime substitute teacher for the Pierce County School System. 

She had also been a devoted housewife and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jasper Raymond Dixon and a brother, Edward Howell.

Survivors include her niece, Kisha Williams (husband Bradford) and their son, Tugg, all of Patterson; a brother, Larry E. Howell (wife Amelia) of Waycross; 2 nephews, Larry E. Howell, Jr. and Dusty Howell, both of Waycross; special friends, Betty Jean Perry, Jeanette Sauls, Norma Jean Sapp, Grace Winn, Bro. Billy Davis, Ronnie and Geraldine Saylor, Wayne and Pam Carter, Sarah Moore and Family, Lisa and Ken Mullis, and Judy Howell; along with many other friends and family.

A graveside funeral service will take place Monday afternoon (9/20/21) at 3 p.m. at Ramah Cemetery.
