Mrs. Anna Lynell Johnson Boatright, age 60, of Bristol, passed away early Friday morning (12/17/21) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 28, 1961 in Alma, she was a daughter of the late Henry Odell “Bud” and Sara Nell Christmas Johnson. She grew up in Bacon County before moving to Pierce County in 1977. She had worked for Julie Hat Company and had also owned Anna’s Hat and Bear Shop. She and her husband were longtime farmers and the owners of Boatright Farms.
She was a member of Martha Memorial Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dan Johnson; and a brother-in-law, Larry Boatright.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Al Boatright of Bristol; 3 children, Alanna Cowart (husband Jason) of Fitzgerald, Ashton Denison (husband Joey) of Patterson, and Austin Boatright of Bristol; 5 grandchildren, Annalynn Carter of Patterson, Allie Anna Cowart and Aubrey Cowart, both of Fitzgerald, Maggie Denison of Augusta, and Jad Denison of Patterson; sister, Jan Abercrombie (husband David) of Alma; brother-in-law, Terry Boatright of Bristol; 2 sisters-in-law, Debbie Holloway and SueNell Boatright, both of Hortense; special cousin, Nova Dean Johnson of Mershon; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Tuesday morning (12/21/21) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bristol Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening (12/20/21) from 6-8 at the funeral home.
