Barbara Ann (Crosby) Green

Mrs. Barbara Ann Crosby Green, age 70, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday afternoon(1/18/23) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness. 

Born December 30, 1952, in Waycross, she was a daughter of the late Owen Jackson and Frankie Louise Sheppard Crosby. She grew up in Waycross, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida and lived many years in Rincon, Georgia before retiring to Blackshear around 2015. She had worked as a bookkeeper and clerk for Citi Trends and had attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Springfield, Georgia. She was an avid dog lover who had many throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Green. 

Survivors include her 2 children, Tonya Thompson (husband Brian) of Nahunta and David Crosby of Blackshear; 6 grandchildren: Teresa Sumner (husband B.J.) of Green Cove Springs, FL, Taton Thompson (wife Sydney) of Jacksonville, FL, Taylor Thompson of Blackshear, Bailey Turner (husband Dillon) of Patterson, Jessica Drawdy (husband David) of Blackshear, and Brennon Thompson of Blackshear; 12 great grandchildren and 2 expected soon; 2 step-sons, Randall Green (wife Im) and Tim Green, both of Jacksonville; sister, Donna Ervin (husband Rick) of Jacksonville; nephew, Jason Smith (wife Dawn) of Jacksonville; several great nieces and nephews; and other relatives; and 5 dogs. 

A funeral service will take place Sunday afternoon(1/22/23) at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday one hour prior to the service.
