Mrs. Barbara Ann Sapp Smith, age 75, of Blackshear, passed away Wednesday afternoon (12/25/24) at Harborview Pierce County following an extended illness.
Born September 6, 1949, in Waycross, she was a daughter of the late Paul Reavis and Fannie Moore Sapp. She lived all her life in Brantley, Ware and Pierce Counties and was a graduate of Brantley County High School. She was retired as a caseworker with Unison Health in Waycross and was a member of Hoboken Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Paul R. Sapp, Jr., Paul Timothy Sapp, and David Earl Sapp.
Survivors include her husband, Glover Smith of Blackshear; 2 sons, James Hewett (wife Kristi) of Blackshear and Sean Hewett of Waycross; 3 step daughters, Nicole Smith (husband Buckshot) of Brunswick, Wendy Dowling (husband Thad) of Hoboken, Kelli Crenshaw of Brunswick; 11 grandchildren, Hunter Hewett, Haley Hewett, Tanley Hewett, Luke Corbett (wife Eliza), Nealie Corbett, Kyle Smith, Kayla Deal, Walt Deal (wife Jordan), Wyatt Crenshaw, Peyton Dowling, and Ruger Dowling; 1 great grandchild, Gentry Alvin “GA” Deal; 1 brother, Darrell Sapp (wife Linda) of Nahunta; 2 sisters, Sandra Thornton (husband Buddy) of Blackshear and Patricia Hickox (husband Andy); sister-in-law, Brenda Sapp of Hoboken; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Saturday (12/28/2024) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Crosby and Chad Nimmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hoboken City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday morning at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
