Barthel Ashley Obituary

Mr. Barthel Emmanuel Ashley, age 69, of Patterson, passed away early Saturday morning (9/4/21) at his residence following an extended illness.  

Born August 30, 1952 in Patterson, he was the youngest son of the late Robert Benjamin Franklin Ashley, Sr. and Deaconess Ruby Cannon Ashley. He lived all of his life in Pierce County and was a graduate of Patterson High School.  He was a retired construction worker.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Linda Gail Ashley, Daniel Eli Ashley, Robert Benjamin Franklin “Smack” Ashley, Jr., Alfred Lee Ashley, Ruben Alexander Ashley, and Rozenna Latrell Ashley.  

Survivors include his three daughters, Josie Ashley of Patterson, Abiegail Moses (husband Isaac) of Valdosta, and Monica Chandel (husband Juan) of Patterson; 6 grandchildren, Brayden Fulton, Tyson Moses, Maleek Chandel, Jayles Chandel, Layla Chandel, and Camilla Chandel; 3 sisters, Betty Douglass of Springfield, Ohio, Janice Simpson of Jesup, Charlene Grant (husband Steve) of Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.  

A graveside funeral service will take place on Friday (9/10/21) at 11 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery in Patterson.
