Mrs. Bettie Davis Campbell, age 91, of Blackshear, passed away early Wednesday morning (6/22/22) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following an extended illness.
Born November 25, 1930 in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late W. Jessie and Mary Dubberly Davis. She lived all of her life in Pierce County and was a 1949 graduate of Blackshear High School. She was retired from CSX Transportation in Waycross, working as an office assistant for 29 years.
A faithful, longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, she attended Sunday school and worked in the nursery for 34 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl O. Campbell.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Carol Campbell of Yulee, FL; grandson, Chris Glover (wife Laura) of Jacksonville, FL; two great granddaughters, Savannah Glover and Riley Fanning; brother, Rev. Billy Davis of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Saturday morning (6/25/22) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
