Mrs. Betty Jean Cranfill Sims, age 65, of Blackshear, passed away Monday evening (5/22/2023) at the Bacon County Hospital following a short illness.
Born April 28, 1958, in Cheverly, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Adah Barbara Campbell Cranfill. She had lived most of her life in Pierce County and was a homemaker and had attended Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Daniel Selph; a sister, Donna Cranfill; and a brother, Gary Cranfill.
Survivors include her 4 children, Aaron Simmons (wife Ashley) of Waycross, Lynn Sabatino of Texas, Brandy Herrin (Shawn Golding) of Blackshear, and David Cameron O’Neal III of Blackshear; 5 grandchildren, Leah Herrin, Alyssa Golding, Kashlynn Simmons, Kyler Simmons, and Tyler Simmons; 2 brothers, Bobby James (wife Birdie) of Middleburg, FL and David Cranfill of Blackshear; sister, Susan Ann Passmore (husband Stephen) of Patterson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place Friday evening (5/26/23) at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service.
