Mrs. Brenda Sue Donaldson Cobb, age 73, of Blackshear, passed away Monday morning (7/3/23) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities in Waycross following an extended illness and entered her heavenly home.
Born November 25, 1949, in Candler County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Rawleigh and Pauline Lanier Donaldson. She had lived in Metter for 66 years before moving to Pierce County in 2016. She became a resident at Baptist Village in 2018 and was known around the nursing home for her sassy, feisty, and comical attitude. She was often referred to as Mrs. Priss!
A lifelong homemaker, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her flowers, traveling, fishing, and going out to eat. Crab legs were her favorite!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Cobb; 2 brothers, Wayne Donaldson and John Kennedy; and a sister-in-law and best friend, Lori Donaldson.
Survivors include her two children, Tina Lynn (husband James) of Blackshear and Tony Young (wife Lisa) of Metter; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Dowling (husband Michael) of Waycross; Gatlan Lynn (fiancé Candice Kinard) of Blackshear, and Haleigh Young, Courtney Young, and Whitney Young, all of Metter; 2 great grandchildren, Finleigh Dowling and Rosie Dowling; sister, Ann Bargeron (husband Charles) of Metter; 3 brothers, Wade Donaldson and Jimmy Donaldson (wife Helen), both of Metter, and Tom Kennedy of Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and her favorite CNA’s, Courtney O’Berry and Shelly Taylor, both of Waycross.
A funeral service will take place Thursday afternoon (7/6/2023) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Bro. James Lynn officiating.
