Mrs. Carol Jeanene Willis Hiett, age 81, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Saturday afternoon (5/15/21) at Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, FL following an extended illness.
Born December 25, 1939 in Central City, Nebraska, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Fay Cassell Willis. She grew up and lived many years in Nebraska before moving to Stuart, FL where she lived for nearly 20 years. She then moved to Blackshear in the early 2000’s before moving to Jacksonville in 2018. She had worked alongside her husband and family as the owners of Hiett Cattle Company, a big cow/calf operation in Nebraska. She had also worked as a secretary for the Bacon County Hospital at the Patterson, Georgia location for several years.
She was of the Presbyterian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Wayne Hiett; and her sister, Wilma Shull.
Survivors include her son, Gerald Hiett (wife Suzanne) of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Mary Hiett Green of Waycross; 4 grandchildren, Kenneth Hiett (wife Krystal) of North Carolina and Derek, Austin, and Melanie Green, all of Waycross; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Nebraska.
