Mrs. Dale James Davis, age 76, of Waycross, passed away late Sunday night (3/27/22) at the Bacon County Hospital following an extended illness.
Born July 12, 1945 in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Alton Walstein and Lillie Ruth McMillian James. She had lived most of her life in Pierce and Ware Counties and was a 1963 graduate of Blackshear High School. She had worked as a LPN for Bacon County Hospital and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Walstein “Al” James, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Davis of Waycross; 2 children, Denny Smith (wife Joyce) and Dana Herrington (husband Wayne), both of Alma; 2 step-children, Paula Gail Reed of Tiger, GA and Karen Michelle Davis of Palm Harbor, FL; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Louise Hyers (husband Johnny) of Athens, Norma Waters Walker of Blackshear, Emily Saussy of Savannah, and Sandra Wheless (husband Steve) of Heflin, AL; special friend, Rhonda Sanderson of Waycross; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday evening (3/30/22) from 6-8 p.m. at Hart Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Davis Youmans Cemetery.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
