Mr. Daniel David Dowling, age 54, of Hoboken, passed away Sunday evening (9/12/21) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.
Born March 14, 1967 in Brunswick, he was a son of the late Daniel Ellis Dowling, Jr. and Marlene Todd Dowling. He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was a 1985 graduate of Pierce County High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Medical Records Technician and played on the Fort Gordon Post Softball Team.
He worked for the Federal Corrections Institution in Jesup as a Medical Records Technician before becoming a small business owner. He owned Dave’s Golf World, Mannco Awards, PakMail, and Escape Quest in Waycross. He also was a licensed insurance agent for Farmers Insurance.
He was a member of Deenwood Baptist Church and a former member of the Waycross Exchange Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ronda Dowling of Hoboken; 3 children, Shane Dowling (wife Desiree) and Todd Dowling (wife Rachel), both of Waycross, Kirsten Williams (husband Zachary) of Augusta; 2 step-daughters, Jadison Johns (husband Thomas) of Callahan, FL and Sky Steedley (husband Remington) of Anchorage, AK; 3 grandchildren and another expected soon, Aubrey Dowling, Ethan Dowling, and Blakely Dowling, all of Waycross; brother, Steve Dowling (wife Samantha) of Jesup; step-mother, Sue Peacock Dowling of Blackshear; 2 step-sisters, Pamela Thomas (husband Michael) of Blackshear and Mandy Thrift (husband Justin) of Waycross; mother-in-law, Kathryn Altman of Hoboken; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Friday afternoon (9/17/21) at 1 p.m. at Deenwood Baptist Church in Waycross.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
