Obituary
Mr. David Clinton Shaeffer, Jr., age 71, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday afternoon (4/1/23) at his residence following an extended illness.
Born June 13, 1951 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, he was a son of David Clinton Shaeffer, Sr. and Joyce Dacesman Shaeffer. He had lived many years in Pennsylvania before moving to Pierce County in the early 2000’s. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army and had worked as a machine operator, on several shrimp and scallop boats, and in real estate.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Louise Misel Shaeffer; and his 2 sisters.
Survivors include his 3 grandchildren, Britany Allen of Waycross, Karl Veach of Blackshear, and Tyler Veach of Blackshear; 2 great grandchildren, Clyde Allen and Caine Allen, both of Waycross; and several other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
