Mr. David Owen Walker, age 61, of Blackshear, passed away Monday night (8/10/20) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.
Born December 1, 1958 in Jesup, he was a son of Lorrine Manning Campbell and the late William Owen Walker. He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was retired from Gilman Building Products in Blackshear. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Maryann Hensley Walker.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Annette Melton Walker of Blackshear; his daughter, Mandy Walker (David King) of Blackshear; his grandchildren, Erica Walker of Blackshear and Jade Sharpe of Waycross; his mother, Lorrine Manning Campbell of Milledgeville; two sisters, Tammy Walker of Waycross and Teresa Walker of Alma; two brothers, Billy Walker (Hope) and Ray Walker, both of Alma; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Thursday (8/13/20) at 2 PM in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
