Dixie Lou (Crawford) Eason

Mrs. Dixie Lou Crawford Eason, age 70, of Patterson, passed away early Saturday morning (5/25/24) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born March 24, 1954, in Waycross, she was the daughter of Mary Lou Stanfield Crawford and the late Andrew Edward Crawford, Sr. She lived all her life in Pierce County and attended Patterson High School. She was retired as a medical coder, having worked many years for Satilla Regional Medical Center and Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

She was a member of Baxley First Baptist Church and enjoyed playing Bridge.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Cynthia Eason Davidson; a brother, Andrew Edward Crawford, Jr.; and her grandparents, Bud and Mattie Stanfield, Nicey Strickland Crawford, and Andrew and Martha Crawford.

Survivors include her husband, Harold B. Eason of Baxley; daughter, Nicole Fulford of Waycross; 1 stepdaughter, Barbara Eason King (husband Dean) of McDonough, GA; step son-in-law, Steve Davidson of Prattville, AL; mother, Mary Lou Stanfield Crawford of Patterson; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew C. and Robin Crawford and Timothy and Sidney Crawford, all of Patterson; 3 grandchildren, Amber Elias of Blackshear, Ashli Shannon of Brunswick, and Nicolas Fulford of Waycross; 3 step grandchildren, Chris Thompson (wife Crystel) and Erica Ehrlich (husband David), all of Prattville, AL and Olivia King of McDonough; 5 great grandchildren, Jailynn Elias, Cali Walker, Treyton Thompson, Huck Ehrlich, and Carmen Thompson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Tuesday (5/28/24) at 11 a.m. at Laura Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Laura Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening (5/27/24) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
