Mr. Donnie William Joyce, age 62, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday evening (9/5/21) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.
Born September 5, 1959 in Blackshear, he was a son of the late Shear William Joyce and Shirley Bennett Outlaw. He was a lifelong resident of Pierce County and had worked as a supervisor for Scapa, Inc in Waycross, worked with the United States Postal Service in Ware County, and as a security guard with Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. He was a member of Hacklebarney Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Donald Outlaw and a brother, Timmy Joyce.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, JoAnn King Joyce of Blackshear; 2 sons, Derek William Joyce and Dalton Paul Joyce, both of Blackshear; 3 grandchildren, Dagen Lane Joyce, Kentley Reese Joyce, and Kendall June Frazier; brother, Greg Joyce (wife Lisa) of Uvalda, GA; an aunt, Eva Spooner of Waycross; 2 sisters-in-law, Virginia Bennett of Waycross and Diane Corbett (husband Jerry) of Waycross; nieces and nephews, Morris and Jessie Joyce, Matt and Bridgett Corbett, Isaac and Eli Corbett, and Joey and Heather Mixon;special friend, Candace Frazier of Blackshear; and several cousins and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Friday afternoon (9/10/21) at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Monroe Gill officiating. Burial will follow in the Ben James Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
