Mrs. Doris Lucille Dubose Aldridge, age 83, of Blackshear, passed away early Thursday morning (10/26/23) at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Born September 4, 1940, in Nahunta, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Fred Dubose, Sr. and Emmie Lucille Johns Dubose. She lived most of her life in Pierce County and retired as a machine operator for Swisher International, Inc in Jacksonville. She was a member of Alabaha Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Willard Aldridge; and 5 brothers, Dewitt Dubose, Donald Dubose, Dewayne Dubose, Robert Dubose, and Freddie Dubose.
Survivors include her two daughters, Johnnie Ann Sinclair (husband Jamie) and Brenda L Seymour (husband Howard), both of Blackshear; one son, Barry O. Aldridge (wife Darlene) of Blackshear; six grandchildren, Amanda Allday (Austin), Chad Tuten, Marcus Aldridge (Katie), Tyler Aldridge (Jacqueline), Nick Henderson (Caity), and Sarah Hoaglin (Doug);23 great grandchildren; brother, Ronald Dubose (wife Linda) of Kennesaw; sister, Ann McKinnon of Waycross; sister-in-law, Paula Dubose of Carrolton; and brother-in-law, Odie Aldridge (wife Laura) of Augusta; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A gathering of family and friends for visiting and reflecting will take place Sunday (10/29/23) at her residence, 4113 Smith Road, Blackshear starting at 2 p.m.
