Mr. Douglas William Kemp, age 64, of Blackshear passed away Friday night (8/7/20) at Harborview Health Systems Pierce County following an extended illness.
Born May 22, 1956 in St. Petersburg, Florida, he was a son of the late William Winters “Bill” Kemp, Jr. and Marguerite Geiger Kemp. He moved to Pierce County in 1976 and had worked many years as a diesel/tractor mechanic at Mershon Tractor, Ace Pole, and Massey Ferguson Tractor before becoming the owner/operator of DK’s Farm Equipment and Tractor Repair.
Survivors include his son, William Winters “J.B.” Kemp of Kingsland; 2 grandchildren, William Kemp and Abigail Kemp, both of Kingsland; his sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Dale Blake of St. Petersburg, Fl; special friends and neighbors, Ramsey and Charlene Bennett of Blackshear; and many cousins and other relatives.
A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
