Elizabeth Simpson Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Mullen Simpson, age 71, of Blackshear, passed away early Wednesday morning (8/11/21) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born May 12, 1950 in Wilmington, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Paul W. and Dorothy Hardinge Mullen.  She lived most of her life in Clarksville, Ohio before moving to Pierce County in 2013. She had worked in banking for several years, for the State of Ohio in the State Benefits Department, and as a delivery driver for DHL. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Simpson, Sr. of Blackshear; son, Gene Simpson of Blackshear; 2 sisters, Norma Hoovermale (husband Gary) of Clarksville, Ohio and Barbara Cornette of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Eddie Mullen of Clarksville, Ohio; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Saturday morning (8/14/21) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Griner officiating. Burial will follow in the Kettle Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
