Mrs. Jacqueline Elwanda Cox Smith, age 72, of Blackshear, passed away early Tuesday morning (3/2/21) at Orange Park Medical Center in Jacksonville following an extended illness.
Born July 13, 1948 in Blackshear, she was the daughter of Henry Albert and Elouise King Cox. She lived most of her life in Pierce County and had worked at their family business, Cox Service Center. She was a member of Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Smith.
Survivors include her 4 children, Henry Smith of Blackshear, Gary Smith of Blackshear, Debbie Justice of Jacksonville, and Clayton Smith of Jacksonville; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and her aunts, JoAnn Stephens of Blackshear and Willene Barnett of St. Louis, MO; and several cousins and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Friday morning (3/5/21) at 11 A.M. at Youmans Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
