Mrs. Frances EldaFaye Strickland Williams, age 85, of Blackshear, passed away Thursday morning (2/13/20) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following an extended illness.
Born August 22, 1934 in Pierce County, she lived in Waycross, Georgia, Brunswick, Georgia, and Lake Wales, Florida. She lived most of her life in Blackshear.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gillis and Linnie Mae Anderson Strickland; her beloved grandfather James Lewis Anderson; a sister, Melba Hayes; and a brother, Tarrell Strickland.
One of her life’s passions was working as an LPN in Waycross, Alma, and Blackshear where she had worked for the Pierce County Hospital and the Pierce County Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Blackshear, the Rambling Rose Red Hat Society, the Pierce County Historical Society, The Huxford Genealogical Society in Homerville, GA and was a University of Georgia Athletics Booster Club Member for over 40 years. She was also a longtime NASCAR fan and an avid Bill Elliot fan. She enjoyed traveling with her husband (Ezra), attending races and Georgia football games in Athens.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Ezra Williams of Blackshear; 4 children, Brenda Luke (husband Travis), Lewis Williams (wife Rhonda), Sonia Crawford (Gene Pfund), and Nathan Williams (wife Krystal), all of Blackshear; 9 grandchildren, Brandie Lee (husband Kevin) of Blackshear, Emilie Harrell of Brunswick, Justin Luke (wife Andrea) of Oak Ridge, TN, Matthew Williams (wife Kalin) of Blackshear, Jacob Williams of Blackshear, Brian Crawford (Amy Tomlinson) of Albany, Megan Crawford of Blackshear, Clay Williams (wife Chelsea) of Waynesboro, GA, and Ryan Kemp (wife Savannah) of Blackshear; 20 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, JoAnn Johnson and Linda Peek (husband Sam), both of Jacksonville, FL, and Maxine Walker of St. Marys, GA; 1 half-brother, Richard Earl Strickland (wife Brenda) of Waynesville; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place on Monday (2/17/20) at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service.
