Frankie Crosby Obituary

Mrs. Frankie Louise Sheppard Crosby, age 87, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday night (1/9/22) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House following an extended illness.

Born February 18, 1934 in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Donald Frazier and Maybell Lowther Sheppard. She was raised in Pierce County but lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida and Rincon, Georgia before returning to Blackshear in 2015. She was retired as a bank teller, beginning her career with Atlantic Bank and retiring from First Union (now Wells Fargo).  She had attended Abundant Life Church in Springfield, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Jackson Crosby; a grandson, Kenny Smith; and all of her siblings, Hazel Hickox, Minnie Ruth Baker, Gladys Mobley, David James Sheppard, Paul Sheppard, Mary Bell Burney, Lois Smith, Betty Lord, and Donald Sheppard.

Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Green of Blackshear and Donna Ervin (husband Rick) of Jacksonville, FL; 3 grandchildren, Tonya Thompson (husband Brian) of Nahunta, David Crosby of Blackshear, and Jason Smith (wife Dawn) of Jacksonville, FL;  12 great grandchildren, Bailey Turner (husband Dillon) of Patterson, Teresa Sumner (husband B.J.) of Green Cove Springs, FL, Taton Thompson of Nahunta, Jessica Drawdy (husband David) of Waycross, Taylor Thompson of Blackshear, Brennon Thompson of Waycross, Ashley Ervin, Jacob Ervin, Colby Smith, Brandon Smith, David Smith, and Travis Smith, all of Jacksonville; 12 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Saturday afternoon (1/15/22) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. John's Cemetery in Pierce County..

The family will receive friends on Friday evening (1/14/22) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
