Gayle (Davis) Chastain

Mrs. Gayle Davis Chastain, age 74, of Spartanburg, S.C., passed away Friday night (12/23/22) at her sister’s residence in Blackshear following an extended illness.

Born March 1, 1948, in Orlando, Florida, she was a daughter of the late William Joseph and Alice Maxine Huggins Davis. She grew up in Lakeland, Florida and was a 1966 graduate of Lakeland High School. She lived most of her adult life in Spartanburg where she had retired as a paraprofessional with the school system. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald M. Chastain.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Chastain and Rhonda Chastain, both of Spartanburg; 2 grandchildren, Spencer Chastain and Braxton Woody, both of Spartanburg; a great grandson, Zander Chastain of Spartanburg; 2 brothers, Bo Davis and Thomas Davis, both of Lakeland, FL; 1 sister, Melany Nichols of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will take place in Spartanburg, S.C. in the spring.
