Genah Eve Johnson

Mrs. Genah Eve Johnson, age 36, of Waycross, passed away Monday morning (10/2/2023) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born October 24, 1986, in Waycross, she was a daughter of Montie Joe Johnson and Kathy Lanora Thomas. She grew up in Chatham County before moving back to Waycross in 2022. She had worked as a nail technician and a waitress.

She was preceded in death by a son, Klayvone Johnson; and 2 siblings, Joe Michael Johnson and Joanna Nicole Barnett.

Survivors include her two children, Shabria Kathrine Cecil and Jabari Allen Cecil, both of Waycross; mother, Kathy Lanora Thomas of Waycross; father, Montie Joe Johnson of Waycross; 3 siblings, Robert N. Cobb of Waycross, Lanor Ann Thomas Shartrand of Omaha, NE, and Kathryn Le-Dawn Bennett of Waycross; her uncle and aunt, Johnny Dale and Patricia Revels of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the funeral home to help offset expenses.
