Mrs. Glenda Ann Lovell Durrance, age 73, of Blackshear, passed away early Friday morning (3/17/2023) at her residence following an extended illness.
Born November 9, 1949, in Pierce County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Gordon and Lessie Lillian Howell Lovell. She had lived all her life in Pierce County and Bacon County and was a graduate of Blackshear High School. She was a longtime housewife and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Durrance; 2 sisters, Brenda Lovell and Waunell Holloway; and 2 brothers, Winfree Lovell and Waylon Lovell.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Aaron “Cotton” Durrance of Blackshear; 2 sons, Jim Durrance and Brad Durrance (wife Sandra), both of Blackshear; grandchildren, CJ and Caroline McGuire, Tiffany and Harley Gomme, Kevin McGuire, Alyssa Durrance, Kyle and Ole Durrance, Katie and Alex Hernandez, Heather and Jeremy Coleman, Brent and Emily Durrance, and David Durrance; great grandchildren, Lily Coleman, Brantley Coleman, Ella Coleman, Kazley Hernandez, Aleigha Hernandez, and Tristan Hernandez, Emmarie Durrance, and Riley Durrance; 1 sister, Wilma Hale of Blackshear; 1 brother, Wallace Lovell of Richardson, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday afternoon (3/22/23) at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Edmund Thrift and Rev. Jimmy Thrift officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
