Gordon Silvester Peterson, Jr.

Mr. Gordon Silvester Peterson, Jr., age 44, of Blackshear, passed away late Saturday night (11/18/23) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born January 3, 1979 in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of Dorothy Fay Prevatt Peterson and the late Gordon Silvester Peterson, Sr.  He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was a 1998 graduate of Pierce County High School. He was a former manager for McDonalds and had also worked in construction and security. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Albert Peterson and Billy Jack Peterson.

Survivors include his wife, Lessie Marie Peterson of Blackshear; son Zack Peterson (Lindsey McLeod) of Blackshear; mother, Dorothy Fay Peterson of Blackshear; sister, Christina Strom (husband Jason) of Brunswick; brother, Matthew Peterson of Phoenix, AZ; special aunt, Wilma Hale of Blackshear; and several nieces and other relatives.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorialization is by cremation.
