Hunter Daine Altman

Mr. Hunter Daine Altman, age 18, of Waycross, passed away Wednesday (10/18/23) at UF Health Jacksonville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born December 6, 2004, in Waycross, he was a son of Roy Altman, Jr. and Kristy Stephens Altman. He lived most of his life in Pierce and Appling Counties and was a 2023 graduate of Pierce County High School.  During school, he was actively involved in the AV pathway, where he was a special features producer for the Bears D.E.N. Network. He was currently working at Kroger in the meat department and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dylan Caine Altman; grandmother, Louise Altman; and an uncle, Matt Morris.

Survivors include his mother, Kristy Stephens Altman of Bristol; father, Roy Altman Jr. of Jacksonville; grandparents, Roy Altman, Sr. of Blackshear, Cecelia and Alvin Morris of Jacksonville, Doug and Wanda Gears of Jacksonville, and Billy Crawford of Indiana; aunts and uncles, Crystal and Billy Meadows of Blackshear, Tina Sontag of Jacksonville, Sheena Moore of St. Augustine, Amanda Gears of Jacksonville, and Pam May of Indiana; and several cousins, great aunts and uncles, and other relatives.

A graveside funeral service will take place Tuesday morning (10/24/23) at 11 a.m. at Laura Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.
