Mr. James Riley Carter, age 42, of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning (1/17/25) at his residence following an extended illness.
Born September 28, 1982, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was the biological son of John Riley Yaun and the late Bonnie Regina Carter Findley. He grew up in Jacksonville and lived in Waynesville before moving to Pierce County in 2017.
In addition to his biological mother, he was preceded in death by his parents who raised him, James Ivey and Phanita Miller Gillette.
Survivors include his 2 siblings, David Carter (wife Christina) of Hortense and Crystal Yaun of Starke, FL; biological father, John Riley Yaun of Mayo, FL; aunt, Joy Gray of Starke, FL; uncle, Edward Miller of Blackshear; 2 nieces, Bridgett Carter and Taylor Carter, both of Hortense, and several other relatives.
