Obituary

Mr. James William Lynn, Sr., age 84, of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning (12/31/22) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born March 19, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was a son of the late Robert Battle and Marie Louise Paporwicz Lynn. He lived most of his life in Millersville, Maryland before moving to Blackshear in 2005.  He worked many years as a steamfitter with Honeywell International, Inc and retired from NASA. He was a veteran, having served in the United State Coast Guard and was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bruce Lynn.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lee Trieschman Lynn of Blackshear; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Thomas (husband William James III) of Charlotte, N.C.; 3 grandchildren, Emily Lynn Thompson, William James Thompson IV, and Jenna Elieen Thompson; all of Charlotte; a niece, Robin Ruark (husband Todd) and daughter Hannah, of Westminster, MD; and several other relatives.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
