Mrs. Jeanette Joyce Duran Heider, age 80, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away early Thursday morning (3/30/23) at Satilla Bluffs Senior Care in Blackshear, Georgia following an extended illness.
Born October 30, 1942, in Tampa, Florida, she was the only daughter of the late Joe and Bella Diaz Duran. She grew up in Tampa and had lived in St. Marys, Georgia, Pinetop, Arizona, Coshocton, Ohio, Florence, South Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia, and Chicago, Illinois before making Amelia Island her home in 1996. She had worked as a nurse at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and had also been a longtime housewife.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Heider; a daughter, Jacqueline Heider; brother, Joe Duran, Jr.; and a son-in-law, Jeff Crawford.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanne Marie Crawford of Blackshear and Jennifer James Faith (husband Christopher) of Fernandina Beach; 4 grandchildren, Tiffany Tindall and Brittany O’Berry, both of Waycross, GA, James Heider Cloud of Montana, and Lily Faith of Fernandina Beach; and 2 great grandchildren, Bentley O’Berry and Brayleigh O’Berry.
A graveside funeral service will take place Monday (4/3/23) at 2 p.m. at Tampa Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
