Jerry Russell Roberson, Sr.

Mr. Jerry Russell Roberson, Sr., age 79, of Patterson, passed away early Tuesday morning (12/26/23) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born December 18, 1944, in Screven, Georgia, he was a son of the late Allen Russell Roberson, Sr. and Ethel Brown Roberson. He lived most of his life in Wayne and Pierce Counties and was a 1962 graduate of Patterson High School. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force and retired as a millwright from Interstate Paper in Riceboro, GA. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Siple Roberson; son, Jerry Russell “Robbie” Roberson, Jr.; a great grandson, Will Foreman; and a brother-in-law, Cecil Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Faye Patterson Roberson; 4 children, Sheri McCarthy (husband Herman) of Waycross, Donnie Roberson (wife Libby) of Patterson, Sheila Roberson  of Patterson, and Cindy Cason (husband Scott) of Patterson; 5 grandchildren, Ciara Kern (husband Joel) of Folkston, Matthew Roberson (wife Mallory) of Patterson, Erin Foreman (husband Justin) of Blackshear, Brooke Strickland (husband Hunter) of Patterson, and Jamie Cason of Baxley; 5 great grandchildren, Joelie Kern, Maggie Kern, Kellie Kern, Jud Foreman, and Grey Foreman; 3 siblings, Gary “Eddie” Roberson (wife Vicki) of Vidalia, Cheryl Johnson of Patterson, and Russ Roberson (wife Debbie) of Offerman; special companion, Rock; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Friday (12/29/23) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Offerman Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service.
