Mr. Jimmy Ray Sornson, age 77, of Patterson passed away on Thursday (7/22/21) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.
Born June 2, 1944 in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late James W. and Elaine Grosskriets Sornson. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War as a military policeman. He moved to Pierce County in 1974 and was a well-known brick mason.
He was a member of Laura Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa M. Sornson Tanner.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Linda Thornton Sornson of Patterson; his son, Jimmy R. Sornson, Jr. (wife AnneMarie) of Jacksonville, FL; 2 granddaughters, Emily A. Sornson and Virginia Rae Tanner; and several other relatives.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday (10/9/21) from 9-11 a.m. at Hart Funeral Home.
