Mrs. Jody Ann Cox Boatright, age 71, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday afternoon (4/13/2025) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.
Born February 5, 1954, in Hunterdon, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Leslie Warman Cox. She grew up in Flemington, New Jersey before moving to Pierce County in 1979. She was a longtime housewife and was of the Baptist faith.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking care of her animals, and watching hummingbirds and NASCAR.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorie Jean Nunn; a grandson, Rylan Cooper Nunn; her in-laws, Robert Fulton and Imogene Boatright; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sherry Strickland, Gene Boatright, Lori Smith, Robert Boatright, Stacy Boatright, and Misty Carter.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Boatright of Blackshear; 3 sons, Jason Nunn (wife Paige) of Waycross, Richard Nunn (wife Rachel) and Robert Nunn (wife Anna) both of Blackshear; 5 grandchildren, Hannah Nunn (Javon) of Albany, Hunter Nunn, RJ Nunn, Rebecca Nunn, and Rowdy Nunn, all of Blackshear; sister, Patricia “Patti” Harrington (husband Ed) of New Jersey; 2 brothers, Clyde Richard Cox, III (wife Tracey) and Phillip “Phil” Cox (wife Debbie), both of New Jersey; a brother-in-law, Ricky Boatright (wife Janette) of Blackshear; best friend, Deloris Lovell of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place Thursday evening (4/17/25) at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Golden officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
