John Kirk Phillips

Mr. John Kirk Phillips, age 54, of Patterson, passed away early Monday morning (12/30/24) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born July 27, 1970, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Larry Kirk and Lois Jean Jones Phillips. He lived many years in Hopewell, Pennsylvania before moving to Patterson in 2012. He was a Security officer for GATX in Waycross and of the Christian faith.

He was a volunteer fireman for the City of Patterson Fire Department and a former volunteer coach for the Patterson Recreation Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Scott Phillips; and his grandmother, Lydia Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Jennifer Lynn Spencer Phillips of Patterson; 4 children, Josh Thomason (wife Marissa) of Patterson, Jacob Phillips of Hoboken, Jessica Lynn Phillips of Patterson, and Jason Phillips of Patterson; honorary daughter, Rachel Thomason of Mount Dora, FL; 2 grandsons, Zeyden Thomason of Galion, Ohio and Mikey Thomason of Patterson; lifelong best friend, Charlie Rowe of Sorrento, FL; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
