Joseph Braxton Manning

Mr. Joseph Braxton Manning, age 60, of Patterson, passed away Wednesday evening (2/10/21) at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born July 29, 1960 in Blackshear, he was a son of the late Dofus Clark “D.C.” and Rosalie Rowell Manning. He lived all of his life in Pierce County and was retired from Rayonier Advanced Materials in Jesup. He was a member of Walkerville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Rowell Manning of Patterson; 3 children, Melissa Manning Matthews (husband Joseph) of Woodstock, GA, Nicholas Manning of Mershon, and Ryan Manning of Waycross; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Crosby and Madison Manning, both of Alma, Gavin Manning of Patterson, Joseph Ryan “Jo Jo” Manning of Waycross, Brittany Manning and Preston Manning, both of Newport, TN; a special brother-in-law, Atley McCarthy (wife Jeanette) of Waycross; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday (2/13/21) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Walkerville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
