Joy Marie (Stepp) Waring

Mrs. Joy Marie Stepp Waring, age 70, of Blackshear, passed away Tuesday afternoon (2/1/22) at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born September 16, 1951 in Denver, Colorado, and lived in Colorado before moving to Pierce County in the late 1990’s.  She had graduated from Cathedral High School and also had obtained her cosmetology license.  She had worked as a hairdresser and as a waitress, working at Holiday Inn, Shoney’s, Cedar River Seafood, and Cavagnaros in Waycross.  

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonny Joseph Waring.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Lonny Waring of Blackshear, Adam Waring of Blackshear, and Marcus Waring of Washington.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
