Mr. Lewis Griffin, age 69, of Alma, passed away early Wednesday morning (12/1/21) at Vista Park Health & Rehabilitation in Douglas following an extended illness.
Born March 28, 1952 in Alma, he was a son of the late Willis and Martha Elouise Harris Griffin. He lived most of his life in Bacon County and Pierce County and was a 1970 graduate of Blackshear High School. He was retired from the construction industry, having worked all over southeast Georgia and last worked with Telemon in Waycross. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Griffin Johnson.
Survivors include his two children, Stacy Griffin (wife Mandy) of Leesburg, GA and Brandi Jewell (husband Levy) of Stockton, GA; 2 granddaughters, Alyssa and Madilyn Griffin, both of Leesburg; his siblings, Sula Fiske of Alma, Mildred McAleer of Ellabell, GA, Willene Heitz (husband George) of Blackshear, Mack Griffin (wife Terry) of Alma, Pauline Roppe (husband Tommy) of Alma, Jim Griffin of Alma, and Ben Griffin (wife Scarlett) of Nichols; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Friday afternoon (12/3/21) at 2 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Matt Tuttle officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church for 30 minutes prior to the service.
