Mrs. Linda Gail Westberry Dennison, age 74, of Blackshear, passed away late Monday night (7/18/22) at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah following a short illness.
Born January 23, 1948, in Blackshear, she was a daughter of Robert Lee Westberry and the late Agnes Ada Walker Westberry. She lived most of her life in Pierce County and was a 1966 graduate of Blackshear High School. Long active in the community, she was retired from the Pierce County Board of Elections following a decade of service and had served as a longtime bailiff. She was currently serving her first term as the District 6 councilwoman on the Blackshear City Council.
A lifelong member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, she attended Sunday School and the Saints of Joy group.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Woodrow Dennison.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ian and Marie Dennison of Patterson; daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Richard Harris of Blackshear; 3 grandchildren, Cade Dennison and Chloe Dennison, both of Patterson, and Jarrett Harris of Blackshear; her father, Robert Westberry of Blackshear; and several cousins and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place on Friday morning (7/22/22) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Blackshear City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to the service.
