Mrs. Margaret Cantrell Davis, age 103, of Patterson, passed away early Saturday morning (1/23/21) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities in Waycross.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Pierce County, Georgia, having been born in the Otter Creek community, she was a daughter of loving parents, the late John Edward and Lula Bryson Cantrell. Living most of her life in Patterson, she was a longtime homemaker, mother of two daughters and a teller at the Patterson Bank for 21 years. She was currently the oldest member of the Patterson Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Willard P. Davis; three sisters, Mildred Cantrell Strickland, Ollie Cantrell Echols, and Geneva Cantrell Raulerson; and two brothers, Floyd Hugh Cantrell and John Richard Cantrell.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Davis Barnard (husband Monroe) of Clermont, FL and Judith Davis Rowell (husband Bobby) of Brunswick, GA; four grandchildren, Karen B. Jones (husband Randy), of Trout Creek, MT, Michele B. Pines of Clermont, FL, Teri R. Thrift (husband Bobby) of Brunswick, GA, and Gregory R. Rowell of Kennesaw, GA; 8 great grandchildren, Bryan Bowerman (wife Tina) of Eustis, FL, Jonathan Bowerman (wife Colleen) of Guyton, GA, Sierra B. Patterson (husband Richard) of Auburn, AL, Hayley B. Pines of Clermont, FL, Cierra Gilbert of Eustis, FL, Austin Thrift, US Navy, of San Diego, CA, Dalton Thrift of Brunswick, GA, and Davis and Jake Rowell, both of Kennesaw, GA; five great-great grandchildren, Mia Barnard Farr, Roan Davis Patterson, Natalia Bowerman, Isabella Bowerman, and Lucas Bowerman; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Patterson Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Howard, Baptist Village Chaplain officiating.
