Mrs. Margaret Ann Woodall Drews, age 79, of Blackshear, passed away early Tuesday morning (12/14/21) at her residence following an extended illness.
Born November 16, 1942 in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Ralph Traylor Woodall, Sr. and Willie Mae Cason Woodall. She graduated from Blackshear High School in 1960 and then graduated from the Business School in Jacksonville, Florida. She returned to Blackshear and worked as the secretary for Fesperman Real Estate Company for a few years. Following marriage, she moved to Orange County, California and worked as the Collections Manager for GI Trucking Company. She returned to Pierce County in 1999.
An active member of Blackshear First Baptist Church, she attended the Workers for Christ Sunday School Class, the JOY Group in which she was responsible for the welcoming and announcements for several years, and had served on the Flower/Decorating Committee. She was also a faithful member of the Classy Red Hatters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Ralph Traylor (Buddy) Woodall, Jr. and Charles Lonnie Woodall, Sr.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jerry Drews of Blackshear; 3 children, Tim Drews (wife Paula) of Bethlehem, GA, Tammy Carson (husband Rev. Randy) of Blackshear, and Julie Arendt (husband Brian) of Santa Rosa, CA; 6 grandchildren, Briana Stiner (husband Robert) of Statesboro, Chase Drews (wife Melaina) of Jefferson, GA, Karis McNutt (husband Shane) of Lawrenceville, GA, Ben Carson (wife Natalia) of Marietta, GA, and Gracie Arendt and Nathan Arendt, both of Santa Rosa, CA; 2 great grandchildren, Vera Drews and Spencer McNutt; sister and brother-in-law, Christie and Ed Patrick of Barnesville, GA; sister-in-law, Deborah Woodall of Surrency; special caregiver, Linnie Daniels of Patterson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Carson and Dr. Bill Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Rehobeth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
