Mary Beth (Culver) Blackshear

Mrs. Mary Beth Culver Blackshear, age 75, of Hoboken, passed away Friday morning (5/7/21) at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta following an extended illness.

Born December 2, 1945 in Pierce County, she was the only daughter of W.J. and Emma Jane O’Steen Culver. She was a 1963 graduate of Blackshear High School and was a retired bank teller from The Blackshear Bank (now PrimeSouth Bank).  She lived most of her life in Blackshear before moving to Hoboken in 2010.

She was a member of Blackshear Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Major Blackshear; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Joyce Aldridge Blackshear; and a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Wanda Culver.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Hulan Blackshear of Hoboken; son, Mike Blackshear (wife Lori) of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Mindie Blackshear and Clay Taylor (wife Anna), both of Blackshear; a great-granddaughter, Leanna Cox of Waycross; 2 brothers, Larry Culver (wife Terrie) and Cleve Culver (wife Pam), all of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place Tuesday afternoon (5/11/21) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Hampton Williams and Rev. Joe Brice officiating. Burial will follow in the Winn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
