Mrs. Mary Lou Brooks Sapp, age 75, of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday morning (1/21/23) at her residence following an extended illness.
Born August 25, 1947, in Blackshear, she was a daughter of the late Horace H. and Estelle Francis Wilson Brooks. She lived all her life in Pierce County and obtained her cosmetology license. She had worked at multiple factories in the area, including the Reuben Brothers Shoe Factory but had spent many years as a self-employed cosmetologist. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Lloyd Sapp; 3 grandchildren, Skyler Crews, Megan Kauffman, and Corrie Kauffman; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her two daughters, Vicki Kauffman and Tammy Anderson, both of Blackshear; 5 grandchildren, Kaylyn Price, Ciera Moseley (husband Josh), Lindsey Smith (husband Caleb), Nikki Allen, and Sean Kauffman, all of Blackshear; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Nell Fontaine of Suches, GA; 2 brothers, Charles Brooks and Jackie Brooks, both of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Tuesday afternoon (1/24/23) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ben James Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
