Mrs. Melissa Kay Strickland, age 44, of Blackshear, passed away on Thursday (11/4/21) in Winston Salem, N.C. from injuries sustained in an accident.
Born January 7, 1977 in Blackshear, she was the daughter of Sandra Owens Strickland and the late Ivey Julian Strickland. She lived most of her life in Pierce County and was a graduate of Pierce County High School. She had worked as a lab phlebotomist at Blackshear Family Practice.
In addition to her mother, survivors include two children, Joseph Cade Roberson (wife Madison) of Patterson and McKenna Grace Roberson of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Elijah Daniel Cochran and Emersyn Mae Roberson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday (11/18/21) at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service.
