Mr. Micah “Mike” Allen Carter, age 64, of Blackshear, passed away late Friday night (11/29/19) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following a short illness.
Born October 1, 1955 in Jacksonville, NC, he was a son of the late J.C. Hubert and Marjorie Johnson Carter. He was a veteran, having served as an aircraft mechanic with the U.S. Air Force, and retired as a Sergeant. He continued being an aircraft mechanic following his military career, working for Boeing.
He had attended First Baptist Church in Blackshear and had enjoyed attending the FAITH Riders Motorcycle Ministry events.
Survivors include his son, Chris Carter of Waycross; his grandson, Maddox Carter of Waycross; 2 sisters, Patricia Aldridge (Mike) of Gloucester, VA and Diana West (John) of Richmond, VA; his nieces and nephews, J.C. West of Newport News, VA, David West of Richmond, VA, Jonathan West (Ashley) of New Kent, VA, and Jennifer Smith (James Via) of Savannah; and several friends and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
