Michelle (Strickland) Westberry

Mrs. Eleanor Michelle Strickland Westberry, age 43, of Blackshear, passed away Friday evening (2/25/22) at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born October 27, 1978 in Waycross, Georgia, she was a daughter of Jerry Michael Strickland and the late Verna Rose Cavender Dixon.  She had lived a few years in Savannah but lived most of her life in Pierce County and was a 1998 graduate of Pierce County High School.  She had earned her associate degree as a Surgical Tech and also worked at Advance Auto Parts in Blackshear.  She had also worked with her mother with Verna’s Cleaning Service, and following the death of her mom, she renamed the business Michelle’s New Construction Cleaning Service, and had a long list of clients she proudly served to the best of her ability.

She was a member of Gilchrist Park Church of God of Prophecy in Waycross.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her step-father, David Dixon.

Survivors include her husband, J.R. Westberry of Blackshear; 2 daughters, Satilla Westberry and Annagail Westberry, both of Blackshear; father and step-mother, Jerry and Wanda Harris Strickland of Blackshear; brother, Michael Strickland (Cindy Webster) of Blackshear; 2 sisters, Beth Barber (husband Matt) of Blackshear and Lanie Goble (husband Shelton) of Waycross; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will take place Tuesday morning (3/1/22) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
