Minnie Sapp Obituary

Ms. Minnie Lanell Beverley Sapp, age 77, of Blackshear, passed away to be with our Heavenly Father early Saturday morning (6/25/22) at Harborview Pierce following an extended illness.

Born October 6, 1944 in Pierce County, she was the youngest child of a large family of the late William Levy Beverley and Eula Blanche Beverley Crawford. She lived most of her life in Blackshear, but lived in Florida for a period of time before moving back home. She was married in 1959 to James Eddie Sapp and worked raising three children all while maintaining and managing the household chores.  She enjoyed working in the garden, planting, picking, and canning vegetables. She would cook two to three meals a day and had family around the table at meal time as often as possible.

Once her children were in school in the 1970's, she attended school and received an education in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She worked at the Waycross Hospital and the Pierce County Hospital. She later became a seamstress, and was employed with Transco Company and Julie Hat Company.

In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, attending family reunions with plenty of food to share, shopping and browsing stores when she found time, listening to music and dancing, and spending time with friends and family. She was always "on the go!" She also loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of her family unconditionally.

She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed reading her Bible until her eyesight failed her.

Having lived a busy life until her health started slowing her down, she moved into Harborview Pierce in January of 2019. She dearly loved the nurses, CNA's, and other staff and residents. She made friends easily with the other residents and did her best to help whenever she had the chance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Talmadge James "T.J." Roberson; and all of her siblings, Mary Eula Beverley Corbitt, Hazel Beverley Gill, William Levy "Buddy" Beverley II, Mattie Lee Beverley Hopkins, Loyd Levell Beverley, Charles Edward Beverley, Robert Beverley, Royce Eugene Beverley, and Jeanette Beverley Mathis.

Survivors include James Eddie Sapp of Blackshear; her three children, Brenda Darnell Sapp, Rita Suzanne White (husband Jimmy), and Barry Levell Sapp, all of Blackshear; 8 grandchildren, Brandon (Katie) Sapp, Tyler Roberson, James (Courtney) Harper, Joshua (Terissa) Clark, Dalton (Emily) Sapp, Ashleigh (Mark) Chapman, Jackson Pickett, and Bentley Sapp; 13 great grandchildren, Lexi Smith, Ashton Roberson, Adrian Roberson, Trent Roberson, Trinity Roberson, Aaden Sapp, Alexander Sapp, Christian Harper, Kaylee Harper, Alec Clark, Dominic Clark, Isabella Clark, and Sofia Clark; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday (6/28/22) at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Thigpen officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
