Nickie (Booth) Rice

Mrs. Rebecca Nicole “Nickie” Rice, age 40, of Blackshear, passed away late Friday night (2/5/21) at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 22, 1980 in Waycross, she was a daughter of James Glenn Booth, Sr. and Elaine Bryant Booth. She grew up in Waycross before moving to Pierce County in the early 2000’s.  She was a sales clerk at the Dollar Tree and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Amie Booth; and a brother, Jamie Booth.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Rice of Blackshear; 2 children, Alex Zanders (Katie) and Alana Rice, both of Blackshear; a nephew, Jason Booth of Patterson; a niece, Mallory Booth Gardner of Patterson; a great nephew and niece, Gracie Gardner and Jayson Booth, both of Patterson; special friend, Papa Shorty Martin of Blackshear; and many other family members and friends.

A graveside funeral service will take place Monday morning (2/8/21) at 11 a.m. at Waters Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
