Onis “Buddy” (Jr.) Patterson

Mr. Onis “Buddy” Patterson, Jr., age 63, of Blackshear, passed away Friday night (5/23/25) at his residence following a short illness.

Born July 29, 1961, in Jesup, Georgia, he was a son of the late Onis Patterson, Sr. and Lois McCarthy Patterson. He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was a retired farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Medsker; brother, Bill Chancey; and 3 special cousins, Lisa Hilliard, Buck Patterson, and Emmett Patterson.

Survivors include his companion, Lynn Suggs of Blackshear; 2 stepchildren, Kaylee Buckins (Timmy Caviness) of Patterson and Kyle Suggs (wife Micalla) of Blackshear; 3 grandchildren, Hadley Caviness, Hagan Caviness, and Colten Courson; “mother-in-law”, Marlene Sullivan of Blackshear; brother, Harry Patterson of Alma; and several cousins and other relatives.

A graveside funeral service will take place Friday (5/30/25) at 10 a.m. at Laura Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery for 30 minutes prior to the service.
