Mrs. Oralee Jeanette Courson Hagan, age 81, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday night (3/24/2024) at Harborview Health Systems Pierce County following an extended illness.
Born July 9, 1942, in Alma, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Louise Dixon Courson. She grew up in Pierce County but lived many years in Fernandina Beach, Florida before returning to Blackshear in 2020. She had worked as a salesclerk at several convenient stores including Flash Foods.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hagan; 1 sister, Lera Hyers; and 2 brothers, Harry Courson and Larry Courson.
Survivors include her son, David Hagan (wife Julie) of Riverdale, GA; 1 sister, Linda Palmer (husband Al) of Blackshear; 2 brothers, Howard Courson (wife Mickey) of Monticello, FL and Homer Courson (wife Kathy) of Alma; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Memorialization will be by cremation. Interment will take place at a later date at Shady Grove Cemetery.
