Mrs. Patricia Linton Campbell, age 69, of Waycross, passed away Friday morning (3/4/2022) at her residence surrounded by her family following an extended illness.
Born January 10, 1953 in Waycross, she was a daughter of William E. and Sarah Spradley Linton. She grew up in the Jamestown area of Ware County and was a 1971 graduate of Ware County High School. She married Pastor Jerry Campbell and was a devoted pastor’s wife. They moved to Richmond Hill in 1984 where they served together at Corinth Baptist Church and then to Nicholls in 1998 and served Nicholls Baptist Church. Following his retirement, they returned home to Waycross in 2018.
She was a member of Jamestown Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jerry Campbell of Waycross; 4 daughters, Alicia Waters (husband Rickey) of Richmond Hill, Katricia Campbell of Richmond Hill, Marissa Thompson (husband Steven) of Blackshear, and Rebekah Sharpe (husband Donald) of Waycross; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; parents, William E. and Sarah Spradley Linton of Waycross; 2 sisters, Joni Padgett of Blackshear and Kathy Durrance (husband Mike) of Waycross; brother, Gary Linton (wife Kelly) of Blackshear; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday morning (3/5/22) at 11 a.m. at Jamestown Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Kettle Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
